But you can't be serious about using such a generic word as "local" as the
name??? At least include the letters "p" and "y" somewhere.

To be clear, the directory being proposed for Python's use here is "~/.local/lib/pythonX.Y/site-packages", not just "~/.local". There's 1 "y" and 2 "p"s in there.
