For people like myself, Linux programmers not developing on Windows every day, there is precious little information available about how to compile our extension modules for the new Windows distribution.
I personally find MinGW (by way of Cygwin) to be the easiest way to do it. I posted here previously with the procedure and even a script to prepare the necessary libpython24.a file.
