Python 2.4.2 and IDLE (with Courier New font) on XP 
and the following code saved as a UTF-8 file 

if __name__ == "__main__": 
    print "零 一 二 三 四 五 六 七 八" 
    print "零 一 二 三 四 五 六 七 八 九 十 "

results in...

IDLE 1.1.2
