Try to change the style sheet string: from: self.groupBox.setStyleSheet("background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); border:1px solid rgb(255, 170, 255);") to: self.groupBox.setStyleSheet("QGroupBox { background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); border:1px solid rgb(255, 170, 255); }")
