First of all, check the file you downloaded. LATEST-IS-2.22.0
points to pygtk-2.22.0.tar.gz and should have an md5sum of:
caf0f3e7a7d8c0ed313898d72c47742a

If you've had an error extracting, there's no point in
continuing with ./configure. Make sure your source files
are ok and only then try building. If you still have problems,
