Am I wrong? > The examples, as far as I remember, uses glade for some glade specific things, like special attributes. Glade is, in this case, the UI designer, not the UI description format. The project I've mentioned provides a glade catalog and custom widgets (provided in gui.builder) so simply look there how it's done.
