Caveat: I am a win32 user and new to gtk and unfamiliar with Linux.
I am having trouble using gtk.FileChooserButton.
FilechooserButton widget appears to be performing correctly but I
get this warning message popping up:
import gtk
fb = gtk.FileChooserButton('mytitle')
__main__:1: GtkWarning: Could not find the icon 'stock_unknown'. The
'hicolor' theme
was not found either, perhaps you need to install it.
You can get a copy from:
http://icon-theme.freedesktop.org/releases
I could not find any mention of "hicolor" in the PyGTK FAQ.
I thought there may be a mention of a special package to install for win32.
Trying the above on a Ubuntu box worked just fine.
I dug around and found "/usr/share/icons/hicolor" folder that seems to relevant.
If this is required I dont know where to place it on the winxp machine.
Obviously I have missed an installation set somewhere for PyGTK and GTK.
Pointers welcome :)
ps: I am impressed with the PyGTK documentation (content and style)
compared to another popular alternative. (love the searchable and
comprehensive FAQ)
I have installed:
python 2.4
pygtk 2.8.4
gtk 2.8.14
running on xp
