looks like a gtk bug. I'd expect the cursor to move with select_day, and be positioned on the initially selected day initially... Instead, it's in the middle of nowhere initially and doesnt care about select_day at all (at least does not move the caret/text cursor, just the "(usually)blue" mark thing). (gtk+ 2.6.8 here) Very weird.
