Indeed, this in fact solves the problem.  Thank you Cedric, for providing
very clear instructions for now to resolve it.

I much prefer the Luna look in 2.2.4.1 over the older one, plus I'm sure
there are other improvements.  I'm glad to be back with the latest GTK
runtime in WinXP.  

I closed the bug report I filed at the GTK site, although maybe I shouldn't
have, as 2.2.4.1 still has this out of date libwimp.dll in it.  I'll go
change the status to pending.
