Hi all. Yesterday I ran a 4 hour training session on High Performance
Python here at EuroPython 2011. I had 40 people in the room and we
went through: profiling, cython, numpy, numexpr, shedskin,
multiprocessing, parallelpython, pyCUDA. I've uploaded my slides:
http://ep2011.europython.eu/conference/talks/experiences-making-cpu-bound-tasks-run-much-faster
and I'm in the process of converting the slides into a written
document which I hope to publish before I get home (I'll link it here
when it is done).

This morning I ran a Birds of a Feather session and another 15 people
turned up to talk about high performance python, pyCUDA (and OpenCL)
is certainly interesting to a lot of people now. Theano and Copperhead
were also presented here.

Also - if you're thinking of attending a future EuroPython - it is a
lovely conference, the organisers are working really hard, the 650
people here are really interesting and the talks are generally rather
good.

Cheers,
Ian.
