How about looking into something Medusa-head-ish ? It has parallel snakes living of their own, and is known enough so that even a black&white rendering could be understood -- see e.g. what some designers already did: http://www.spreadshirt.com/medusa-head-1c-C3375I10256690 I know, ideas are cheap, and I'm no designer, so that might not be super helpful :/ [Brhm hm... Would a kind designer mind giving a head ? (sorry, couldn't resist that one)]
(woops, a quick web search shows that Medusa head is already the logo of Versace -- but seriously, give me ONE python coder who would know that without googling (and without a girlfriend's help)).
