The shaded first columns are setup by Vim when the netbeans interface
is initialized. And Vim netbeans interface must be initialized on
start-up, this is required by Vim.
If you are running the latest version of pyclewn, there is a Vim patch
named 'nbstart-command' that fixes this issue and allows starting the
netbeans interface (and pyclewn) at any time during a Vim session. The
shaded bar appears only when netbeans is running, and you can close
the netbeans session (or terminate pyclewn) and restore the standard
display afterwards.
