It is worth mentioning that if I replace this hierarchy:
- "%{::environment}/%{::osfamily}/%{::lsbdistcodename}"
which uses directories with just a single file like so:
- "%{::environment}_%{::osfamily}_%{::lsbdistcodename}"
both puppet apply and puppet agent are able to find the variable.
If I prefix the domain fact like so however:
- "%{::domain}_%{::environment}_%{::osfamily}_%{::lsbdistcodename}"
even though it's still just a single file like above, puppet apply works
but puppet agent -tv breaks again and facter domain returns fine.
I must be really doing something wrong here.
