I have tested it in two different server 2012 instances... one in VMware Workstation 10.0 running vSphere/ESXi and the other in AWS EC2. In both cases I have added a custom YAML file to C:\ProgramData\PuppetLabs\facter\facts.d and populated it with custom facts, thusly: app_project: "sfa" app_environment: "...
