Reid Vandewiele commented on an issue   Re: Empty clientbucket files produce errors Reproduced by applying manifest as follows file { '/etc/motd': content => "test\n", } Manually set the contents of /etc/motd to "original". Then run Puppet, applying the above code (I used a module and agent mode). Run the Puppet agent, making sure the above configuration is applied. Verify the original motd file gets backed up. Find the directory the motd file was bucketed to (e.g. /var/opt/lib/pe-puppet/bucket/a/1/0/c/c/0/0/4/a10cc0046a5fad11470513e5f5df9d91/) Change the entry in the paths file to "/etc/motd/other" Change the entry in the contents file to "not original" Run chattr +i on both the paths and contents files in the filebucket Manually reset the contents of /etc/motd back to "original". The 'contents' and 'paths' files were both present and empty.
