hi,

it seems you guys never used esw wiki, so some more info about it.
anyway, I personally don't care much if its twine or ESW, but I will answer some questions about ESW, as it is one of the longest running, and biggest, community sites on semantic web.

It was Paola Di Maio who said at the right time 02.07.2009 16:06 the following words:

Also, does anyone else thinks that the GUI of the page below could be improved and wonder if that tells something :

 http://esw.w3.org/topic/SemanticWebUsability
hey, this is web 2.0.
This is a wiki - you have ideas to make it better, then do so.

if you don't like what you see, delete it.

Also, ideally, shouldnt we all be able to publish thing where we favour, and then link them?
like here?
http://esw.w3.org/topic/FrontPage
or here?
http://esw.w3.org/topic/ConverterToRdf
or here?
http://esw.w3.org/topic/VocabularyMarket

this is all what the ESW is for - keeping the links to important resources about the semantic web.

I have both a private link collection (on delicious and my semantic desktop) but also try to keep esw updated,
the same do many people from W3C.

do we need an ontology of semantic web usability expressed in RDF? or something?
no, just links and text

I would like to link our workshop stuff papers, presentations etc) from ASWC in Bangkok, too
sure, go ahead.

as said, twine is also fine, but esw has been there before and has much more and detailled material than anything else,
and is from w3c.

best
Leo

    Hi,

twine is closed, I would rather propose to use the ESW wiki by W3C.

I can't contribute nor coordinate this the next months, I just
    moved to vienna
and need to get internet and other things....

It was Tim rdf who said at the right time 27.06.2009 00:30 the
    following words:
    Leo,

I am very much interested in the objectives you outline and would
like to contribute. I will follow the additions to the wiki.

I created two Twines for Semantic Web Usability a while ago, but
have not found anyone interested in the topic. Please feel free
to tuck things there as well -- perhaps we could get some
critical mass. Within a twine, we can comment on each artifact we
    post.

I like the idea of a collection of state-of-the-art, and will
contribute, but only if I can edit myself and am sure that
the state-of-the-art will be there the next years in public
        domain.
The place where I am sure that it will remain open, and which
is already the place where all other discussions about the
Semantic Web happen, is the ESW wiki.
I added a page here for you:
         http://esw.w3.org/topic/SemanticWebUsability

Rather, take exsiting tools and compare them against the
        vision -
can your grandma find a doctor in her neighbourhood that
will accept her Health Insurance and treat her illness?
(This was the guiding example of "The Semantic Web", 2001,
        Timbl et al)
so - can facetted browisng help?
        can xy help?

        etc.

        best
        Leo

I would also humbly suggest to look at the usability concerns
that are addressed in KDE 4.0, which has an RDF based
        metadata layer.
In our NEPOMUK project we are currently working on the
biggest deployment of Semantic Web technology (especially
RDF) ever, reaching half of all linux users... much usability
        to study there.
