I had problems with it as well; in my instance I found that IETester was
using the ie8 rendering engine when I was trying to test IE6... yeah, wasn't
useful at all.

That was about a year ago.

Just finally broke down and started using a VM of windows XP with no IE
updates for IE7 and have given up all support of ie6.
