Hello everyone,

It's my first post in this working group so I might introduce myself real
quick, I'm Jesus Vazquez Senior Software Engineer @ GrafanaLabs and I'm
little by little stepping into this awesome community.

Lately I've been working together with Ganesh and Dieter Plaetinck in
bringing out of order support for the prometheus TSDB. We're happy to share
our design doc
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1HWL-NIfog3_pFxUny0kAHeoxd0grnqhCBcHVPZN4y3Y/edit?usp=sharing

If anyone has interest, we would really appreciate if you had the time to
review and comment on it. Also we've added this item to the next Prometheus
Storage Working Group community call on Tuesday next week. We'll try to be
there to discuss about this.

Finally I'd like to clarify that the work is happening today in this branch
https://github.com/grafana/mimir-prometheus/compare/out-of-order You'll
notice its not actually prometheus but a fork called mimir-prometheus. This
is a temporary place we use for internal development reasons to dogfood our
own changes before upstreaming them. We'll make sure to upstream this once
we think its ready and has been tested in our production Mimir clusters.

Please let us know if you have any suggestions and/or any objections to the
proposed solution.

Regards,
Jesus Vazquez
