Diff will not apply as it's mangled by your mailer, and you should do it from a 6.5-stable checkout (instead of manually copying files around, as the CVSid tags shows..) Doing the diff itself is trivial, it's more a matter of having time (and interest) to do it and commit it. Keep in mind that -stable backports are done on a "best effort" basis so far. That said, i've commited a backport.
