python setuptools

Hi,
For some reason the port in witch I was working (devel/spyder) is
having some issues.
When building:
error: invalid command 'egg_info'
When installing:
error: option --single-version-externally-managed not recognized
Both from the setup.py script.
Is there any changes that could have affected this ?
