One of the notable changes of the 52.0 branch (*for mainline*): Removed NPAPI support for plugins other than Flash. Silverlight, Java, Acrobat and the like are no longer supported. Cf https://groups.google.com/forum/?_escaped_fragment_=msg/mozilla.dev.tech.plugins/Cu1rOVEn45M/FYHz_XIoAAAJ and https://mike.kaply.com/2017/02/02/plugin-support-in-firefox-52/ -> so that means users of www/mozilla-firefox can say goodbye to integration with (pkg_locate lib/mozilla/plugins) : djview4 (seriously ?) gnome-shell (wth ?) icedtea-web (java is dead anyway) kopete (skypebuttons ? wat ?) mozplugger (dead upstream anyway) rythmbox (hmmmkay) vteplugin (it was a funny hack anyway) check about:plugins in your browser to see if you have one installed.. I dont know for other browsers/engines supporting NPAPI (webkitgtk4 ?).. If you can't live without those, the www/firefox-esr branch should still support them for the 52.x lifetime (ie 10 more months or so). Landry
