I had never used impressive, but I have to say I like this a lot. I like the ability to zoom out to thumbnails and the ability to highlight parts of the slide. The in-tree version actually doesn't work at all for my beamer presentations. With this diff, it works if you install textproc/pdftk (missing dep).
