When I built the package manually, I was prompted to run aclocal,
autoconf --add-missing and adjust the gettext version to regenerate
aclocal.m4. Once the AUTOMAKE_VERSION and AUTOCONF_VERSION have been
set, it is possible to sequentially execute automake --add-missing, the
command to regenerate aclocal.m4?
While were here, I can patch the deprecated macros and send upstream if
that is normal practice.
