So, rackmonkey has a nice clean UI and is very straightforward to setup and easy to use, but it's a bit limited (can't do separate placements in the front and back of the rack, doesn't have a way to record cable connections, etc), and development has pretty much stalled... so rather than try and hack some of the things I need into place I've written a port for Racktables instead.
Racktables is mysql-only and there's a bit more clicking around in the UI but it's fairly well thought-out and has a lot more features than rackmonkey, works quite well in my tests so far, and is actively developed. It's a fairly standard PHP port, nothing tricky. Any comments? OK to import? -- -- -- Racktables is a web-based database for datacenter and server room asset management. It helps document hardware assets, network addresses, space in racks, networks configuration and more. -- -- -- http://www.racktables.org/
