i have added:

CONFIGURE_ENV=  LDFLAGS="-L${LOCALBASE}/lib -lvorbis -logg -lm" \
                CFLAGS="${CFLAGS} -ftrampolines" \
                CPPFLAGS="-I${LOCALBASE}/include"

and it compiles now. even FLAC is enabled, although i made no other changes:

Configuration for gtkpod 0.99.14 :
--------------------------------

 Host System Type .....: i386-unknown-openbsd5.0
 Install path .........: /usr/local
 GTK2 version .........: 2.24.7
 GLib2/GThread version : 2.30.1
 libgpod version ......: 0.7.2
 gnome-vfs.............: *no -- will build without iPod autodetection support
 hal...................: *no -- will build without HAL support
 libcurl ..............: yes -- will build with coverart download support
 mp4v2 ................: yes -- will build with aac support
 vorbisfile ...........: yes -- will build with ogg support
 FLAC .................: yes -- will build with FLAC support

the last piece of the puzzle, convert-2mp3.sh however returns
an error, so it's not over yet.
