Any ruby extensions that use libpthread and are not linked with -lpthread (which has issues and won't be added) need to LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libpthread.so.x.y. Alternatively, you could try ruby 1.9 (sudo pkg_add -i ruby19-rmagick), which links with libpthread and shouldn't have this issue. Jeremy
