I started looking at this; attached tgz does: - better DESCR - clean up whitespace - mention specific license version - use a more standard comment for the actual autoconf version for easier grepping when we import the newer versions - set NO_REGRESS; tests run but can hang...probably pthread-related however I think the pthread thing needs looking at some more (also it's linking at least some things with -lpthread rather than -pthread).
