Gave it a go on my multimedia files. So far I've tested:

Audio
mp3, ogg, wav, flac, aac
streaming (shoutcast and rtsp)

Video
H264 videos (stuff downloaded from YouTube with youtube-dl)
Theora
XVID with SRT subtitles
MP4V
flv
matroska

Also tried a sample webm (VP80) video:

which worked fine too.
