Ian, OpenBSD 4.6 i386 stable test found a problem with smbclient, repeated test on current amd64 same error, then tried your second diff same issue.
smbclient:/usr/lib/libreadline.so.3.0: undefined symbol 'tgetent' There are references about same type of issue for other OS's. The samba server is running on OpenBSD 4.6 i386 stable, I am using the ads FLAVOR as Active Directory member server. There are a couple of errors messages in the logs, these needs some further checking. Access to the shares is working.
