Both audio/rhythmbox and mail/evolution,-main have this MESSAGE:

  If you intend to run [this program] outside of GNOME and don't have a
  default icon theme setup, you need to configure one. Add the following
  line in ~/.gtkrc-2.0:
    gtk-icon-theme-name="gnome"

Now, I don't run GNOME and I don't have a ~/.gtkrc-2.0 file.
I just started up rhythmbox to check some other problem, and it doesn't
look like any icons are missing.

So are these MESSAGEs still relevant?  Or did something in GTK+2
change to make them obsolete?
