Wasn't able to reproduce the issue until I rebuilt from current
sources from around the 7th August (AEST). Though I am seeing
something slightly different.

I am also running the Samba 3.4.0 stuff on a box running 4.6 from
4_6_stable source tree with no issues.
I didn't see this issue from current sources built prior to about the
1st August.
I am suspecting this may not be a samba issue. I need to see what
changed recently in the current source tree.
I CC'd ports@ incase anyone else has some ideas.
Next step is to work out how to get a core dump to analyse as it
doesn't leave one. My smbd is still functional though.
