libeio | IO::AIO

Has anyone worked on|got working the 'AIO' library libeio which is used
in IO::AIO and AnyEvent::AIO?  It compiles (both in and outside of the
IO::AIO distribution), but stalls waiting for returns (OpenbSD i386,
-current).
