I'm definitely keen to get some 1.6 version in-tree, but I don't fully trust it to replace 1.4 yet. I was thinking of either moving them into subdirectories, or keeping them alongside each other (like we did with firefox/openoffice) and switching later. But then, I'm not sure what to do with 1.6.0 and 1.6.1 and 1.6.2 and .....
