Yesterday, I was a bit short on what the package is meant to do.

Bcfg2 is a systems configuration application in a similar way as is
Cfengine, but done differently ("better"). To me, it looks more
promising and easier to handle, as it eg. uses SSH and XML-RPC for
communications, and configuration is mostly (exclusively?) done via
some XML stuff.  Keeping configuration data in a relational database
and then generating client configs on the fly seem to be standard
procedure, too. The whole package is written in Python instead of C.


So far, the port only covers the integration of the software into
OpenBSD's ports and packages system. There is otherwise no OpenBSD
specific funtionality done (yet).
