working fine on amd64, armish. not a big problem, but on sparc64
the timestamps on warning messages are broken, but normal operation
(including timestamps of packets) is correct, e.g.

anyone for macppc now you've seen how easy it is to test
basic functioning?  we should definitely have this in ports.
