You can take so comfort in the fact that by default, your ~/home is not
accessible to the WAN.
Agree that a pkg-readme would not hurt. In the U.S., applying to most
Federal regulatory agencies eg. USPTO, is done via https with
authentication.

Did you try manually typing "/home/hans/Downloads/" and hitting
return into the top right corner of the the file selection window?
At least that is how it worked for file downloads when i last checked
IIRC, even though the top right side of that window offered no clue
that directory names could be typed there.
no, I haven't tried that - now I have, and that's what works.
What a horrendous interface.
(This might be important enough to be added to the pkg-readme.
Looking in the archives, I am not the first one ...)
