librist is VideoLAN's implementation of the RIST protocol in C that can be used with programs like ffmpeg and tsduck. ffmpeg will need to be recompiled with RIST support with a configure parameter. The in-tree binaries for sending and receiving RIST streams gave me trouble and I had to use TSDuck instead, but i'm not sure if this is the programs themselves or my machine(s).
