In this email, I have attached a preliminary diff for upgrading Lumina
from version 1.4.0-p1 to version 1.6.2 [1]. I refer to it as a
preliminary version because it still requires refinement. Although this
desktop environment appears to build correctly, the package installation
does not place the files in the appropriate directories.

I have resolved the issue with file installation; the port now builds and
installs correctly. However, I have not yet tested whether it functions
properly when executed.

In this email, I have attached the updated diff.

OKs? Comments?

Since the diff removes all executables from the PLIST, it will be
difficult to test whether it functions properly when executed.

Yes, I noticed the problem. I initially thought I had fixed it because, at one point, running "make install" successfully installed the desktop environment binaries. However, when I moved the updated port to another machine for testing, the installation failed. It seems this port is broken, and if it cannot be fixed, I think the best course of action would be to remove it from the ports tree.

I've considered what Theo Buehler said, and I think he is right, it doesn't make sense to invest time in updating this desktop environment, as it has been de facto abandoned by its mainstream developers.
