Re upgrade paths / defaults (i.e. whether to have -minimal as a low-dep
option and include zstd etc otherwise, or whether to avoid them by default
and have -full as the version with run deps) - I think it really depends on
what would be considered acceptable by whoever it was that complained last
time - I don't remember who that was.

FWIW this version looks fine to me but there's a question still open
regarding the upgrade paths. Will keep you posted.
I suspect switching to zstd compression (which would be the
default once this patch is in) would help the load on mirrors in the
future as well.
