I don't work in ports, but I want to mention how often I have encountered
old documentation which is full of a few nuggets of truth, mixed with a
few lies. Those lies were not made intentionally. They were facts, which
over time became untrue, and they can be highly misleading. The value of
10 true facts can be destroyed by one misleading untruth. Sometimes it
is better to burn it to the ground, unless someone shows up to properly
steward the data back into complete-truth for the next era. If such a
person doesn't show up, then it is time for gasoline and a match.
