I've run tests on various other dependent ports (especially the ones
more closely related to flask) and updated some of them, and committed this,
would appreciate reports if there are any runtime problems found with
other deps.

I've dropped the sphinx docs, I don't think they're useful enough to be
worth the pain of more ports to check when updating sphinx and heavier
build deps
