Hi,

Depending on devel/web, this is METAFONT, a font compiler intended
to produce typefaces of high quality. METAFONT takes .mf font
description files and produces .tfm font metric files and .gf bitmaps.

Originally metafont was intended to create fonts at a particular site
for a particular printer. You would know ahead of time the parameters
of your printer and create fonts specifically for that model of printer.

But I suspect most users want to use metafont fonts on a display, which
does not fit that model. I have arbitrarily picked some parameters from
the 'modes.mf' file taken from texlive, see 'hitexlaptop'. These
parameters are important because all fonts created from metafont use
them. In my experiments, for bitmap fonts, I think they look fine.

This port contains more change files to let metafont and mf-ware
compile with the Free Pascal compiler

The created package contains metafont, and mf-ware, and the literate
programming documentation that again cannot yet be processed. It also
contains the source .mf files for the Computer Modern family of
typefaces.
