I just got an according bug report from Predrag regarding this. Dependent on what you do, version 14.9.21 is truly _broken_, and 14.9.22 really should replace 14.9.21 wherever possible, please. The problem is that file descriptors needed for subprocesses will be closed. I still have not updated the tests for this, i got back to school to learn about boxing, WireGuard, better firewall, etc., and yet existing ones only use the standard set of file descriptors, and thus did not reveal this. (And my own use cases do not either, i turned to use ~/.mailcap and effectively use %s for all relevant entries.)
