naddy had a similar diff and same problem. Looking at the compiler warnings it doesn't exactly seem LP64-clean (or, well, clean at all); I wonder if it might do better on a 32-bit arch. That said, there are alternatives like kbreakout / lbreakout2, I'd be OK with just rm'ing.
