But others might be interested in mainting the SpamAssassin port. If I were interested in mainting a port that someone else gave up I'd express my interest but I'd also ask if anybody else is interested. By just stating that you'll take the port chances will be rather low that somebody else will step forward and object your announcement. There are a couple of people on this list who are interested in SpamAssassin and who took actively part in maintaining the port. All of them would be good maintainers. I renounced maintainership because of lack of time. When I see that you don't fix ports with security holes for several months than I have to assume that you cannot dedicate enough time to the SpamAssassin port. From my point of view it doesn't make sense if another maintainer, who obviously lacks time too, takes the port.
