well, then it's a legacy group from the days when a CNews or so was
part of the base system, right?

Well, I ran INN with a UUCP newsfeed for some years, but switched to
NNTP streaming transport a few years ago, and also don't deliver any
more mail via UUCP (nobody asks for it right now). So, I didn't move
the UUCP installation(s) from box to box and upgrade to upgrade... But
I'm also not running a "high traffic" news feed, only sort of one
(almost?) full text feed.

Hmm, you mean, one should transfer news via FTP instead of, or in
addition to, UUCP? Who else supports that?
