To make sure I don't have contaminated tree i rm -rf'ed irssi from ports tree, checked it out again, copied irssi to /usr/ports/mystuff (before i was working on the real one, just now figured out that there exists something like that ;), patched it with the last patch i posted, then just copied your patch-config to patches/ dir. Same result as above, that system also running GENERIC#617 i386 snapshot as yours is.
