I had the same issue with the same package yesterday. I ended up downloading (ftp) the precompiled package (freetype) to the box instead of using the ports tree/make to download/compile the package.
This is the only package I saw this with. I installed ~15 other packages and this was the only one that gave me any issues. Axton On 3/8/06, John N.
