I've been using OpenBSD as IPv6 router since 2.6. It's been working perfectly for me for quite a few years now, both with native and tunneled (thru SixXS.net) access. No extra software is needed, everything can be done with the base install, including setting up a router advertisement deamon for your local lan and coupling your system to the larger IPv6 world through OpenBGPD. | >2) How can you disable ipv6 support on openbsd 3.5 without recompiling | >the kernel You must *enable* ipv6 support to be able to use it beyond the scope of your local network. This means configuring an IP address on an interface and setting up a default gateway or configuring your system to accept router advertisements. Both methods work just like they should. | Simply do not enable use of ipv6 in any program you run. | | Just don't bother with anything else. Unless you really need to. And I | bet you don't. You are more likely to break stuff than to fix anything. If you're afraid of nasty packetses, 'block drop quick inet6 all' in your /etc/pf.conf works wonders. But I suggest you pick up on IPv6 and get to know the protocol - there's nothing to be afraid of ;) Cheers, Paul 'WEiRD' de Weerd -- >++++++++[<++++++++++>-]<+++++++.>+++[<------>-]<.>+++[<+ +++++++++++>-]<.>++[<------------>-]<+.--------------.[-] http://www.weirdnet.nl/
