Works for me on alpha. I had some -iconv packaging problem that was solved by removing all ports. Reinstalling iconv alone didn't do the trick. I'm running Ruby on Rails installed using gem from the submitted port and it seems to work well so far. I also tried installing the postgres gem using ``gem install postgres'', but the compilation didn't succeed. It looked like it didn't search for the header files the right place but I'm not familiar enough with gem yet to do anything about it.
